Customers like the quality of the sharpener. They say it makes their chefs knife super sharp, is the best brand to sharpen knives, and is great for finishing off a sharpening cycle on any bladed object. The finer grit allows for a reasonable decent finish without having to purchase additional stones. The knife's edge remains sharp a long time when it is done properly.

A great water stone for finishing off my woodworking tools and kitchen knives
5 Stars
A great water stone for finishing off my woodworking tools and kitchen knives
This sharpening stone is great for finishing off a sharpening cycle on any bladed object. I use it for my plane irons and my chisels. I have also used it for my kitchen knives with great results. The 6000 grit side is my last "stone step" in my sharpening cycle followed by a 15000 grit lapping. I have never been disappointed with the edges on my tools.Another thing I like about these stones is while they are water stones they are not extremely soft like some other water stones I have encountered. It lasts longer. One tip I recommend with any water stone is to "re-flatten" after every use to prevent any sort of valley being carved into your stone. For this reason it is a good idea to buy two of any water stone you have so you can rub the two stones of the same grit together to re-flatten each other after every use. Just a quick 10-20 second rub will re-flatten the stone and will prevent you from having to spend a lot of time and money on other re-flattening techniques down the line.Dimensions of the stone and the platform it sits on can be seen in the photos that I have attached. I also attached a photo of a rabbet plane iron to show the sharpness I was able to achieve with my sharpening cycle--of which this stone is a part of.Included in this purchase was the double sided water stone (1000 grit and 6000 grit) as well as the injection molded plastic platform that the stone inlays into to hold secure while in use.Pros:*Great sharpening results*Not too soft, lasts longerCons:*NoneAdditional Considerations:If you want something that will stay flat forever with no maintenance look at diamond steel plates. Some I bought and am very happy with are here:Of course, keep in mind, any sharpening medium will have its pros and cons so keep that in mind.Overall: 5/5 stars (>=.5 rounds up, <.5 rounds down) => 5 starsIf you have any further questions regarding the product in my review please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
