I'd give it 3.5 if possible. It does a good job of conditioning and you get quite a lot for the money compared to Bluebeard's. I really, really hate the smell. To me it smelled like stale, over-buttered movie theater popcorn with a hint of vomit. Now maybe it's just me because on two separate occasions my wife made entirely unsolicited comments on how good it smells (which she usually doesn't do unless she really likes something). So perhaps I got a funky batch or my olfactory system just has a disagreement with it, but I think it really just boils down to preference. You either like it or you don't. All in all, I'd give it a 0 for smell, a 4 for performance, and a 4 for quantity/value. I will say that the smell doesn't linger after you rinse, so there's always that.

I was very impressed with this beard conditioner. I was very surprised - even better results than the one I regularly use and I thought that one worked great! This was even better. First use, I made a mistake of using a bit more than I should have - although it was still a tiny bit. So when using this, think small amount, then make it smaller. It lathers up pretty well and my beard has never been softer only after a few uses. Excellent conditioner! I use their beard shampoo as well so I am not sure if you have to use both to get good results or not but using both seems to be very effective.

The Beardsley guys really know how to make the thing that makes a man manly feel amazing. Their shampoo is by far the best I have used in my beard, and it has an amazing sent to it. The conditioner works really well also. I personally like to finish my beard hygiene with some oil from grave before shave, but I have used Beardsley's lotion and it works well for sensitive skin under the beard as well. I recommend these guys to everyone I know starting their pursuit to become more manly by growing their facial hair. Who needs the fountain of youth when you can grow an awesome beard? And these guys know how to keep that beard staying classy. I recommend a shot of whiskey after using this product, which can also help to grow a bit more of your manhood.

Works great. I started growing my first beard and need something for the itch and this did the trick. The smell is okay but I don't think it last to long. My wife told me it was noticeably softer. I would recommend that you give it a try!

Update: I have used it over and over again and while I think it is still a good product and still recommend it I wish it moisturized a little better. I usually follow up with some lotion after to make sure my face is getting enough so it doesn't ry out. (I do live in a dry climate)

Let me start by saying I have a VERY wiry, VERY curly beard. As much as my wife loves the look of it, I've never been able to grow it out longer than a month without wanting to tear my face off.

So far with the help of this conditioner, I've been managing significantly better than past attempts. It does soften things a bit and helps with the constant ingrown and stabbing issues I deal with. It's not a dramatic improvement however, at least not for me. Perhaps it works better for people with longer or less malicious beards.

Regarding the fragrance, I don't see what all the hubbub is about. It kind of smells like your girlfriend's hair conditioner, but it's not overpowering and it doesn't linger at all after you rinse it.

UPDATED: One my second tube now after more than a year (I only use it a few times a week$. Still a great product! Again, I put a little in after a shower or before bed and then wash it out later, but it works wonders. I've recommended it to many people and everyone loves how much better their beard feels—softer and smoother. highly recommend—STILL!

First off, I didn't think it smelled nearly as girly as some of the reviewers. Sure, it's a bit on the "fresh" side, rather than smelling like the woods or an oil rig or a 6hr bus ride, but then again, I don't usually condition my beard and run straight to the club...as a CONDITIONER, it works very well--some of the best I've found--and when I am ready to go out, my beard balm or cologne has no trouble covering up any real or imagined smell left by the conditioner. I'll be buying it again.
