My observations:
+ Very absorbent!
+ Very trim for how much liquid they absorb
+ Goes a long way - makes a lot of inserts with just 1 yard
(-) Shrinks a TON
(-) Bunches
The website states that the Zorb will only shrink about 10% when washed. The inserts were made with this in mind... but they shrank a lot more than that. They are now at least one inch shorter and nearly two inches narrower than they were before they were washed. They're almost newborn-sized now, so I can't use them by themselves in the diapers. I've only used them as doublers so far, underneath other inserts. They do work well, but it's not what I'd had in mind when purchasing this fabric. Not all of the Zorb has been used yet, so my family member will make a new template based on how much the first set shrank, and try again. We also have a problem with the double-layer inserts bunching in the middle after washing, despite using two seams to try to prevent that from happening.
There's still a ton of the Zorb left, and so far I've gotten six inserts from it (three with one layer of Zorb, and three with two), so it goes a long way. It's certainly an economical option for cloth diaper inserts, providing I can figure out what the pre-wash dimensions should be.
The product seems great, but my boys' pee has just puddled on the fleece (pro tip: wash your anti-pill fleece on hot 3 times, and dry it that way so it wicks liquids better) so I cannot say much for the quality of the zorb. The fleece I have is fairly thick, so maybe for those with thinner fleece this would work more.
Will update when my boys are bigger and pee more (but I kind of hope they dont!)
