This seat cover is exactly what I needed! I have been on the hunt for a seat cover since I got my new car 7 months ago. I have two huskies who walk around on the front seat with their little claws threatening the leather. Also, I needed protection against wet dog, mud, and fur. Oh, the fur!

So what sets this cover apart from the others I've ordered (and returned). First and foremost, it has a rubbery backing on the seat area. If you have leather seats, this is an absolute must! The rubber prevents the seat area from slipping on the leather (or fabric) when sliding in and out of the car. This was the main reason I returned three other seat covers before finding this one!

Next, it was extremely easy to install. The seat area has a fitted lower section, so you slip that on. Then pull the back up and clip the straps around the headrest. Then there is a bolster tube where the top and bottm meet and you push it through the crease in the seat. Grab it from behind, give it a gentle pull, and it's done! I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it fits the seats well.

It also cleans up really well. I've wiped mud off of it and had wet dog that never seeped through to the actual seat. Running a damp cloth over the cover also pulled all that glorious husky fur right off. My pups are going through a shed right now, so this was a great thing!

Overall, I love this seat cover, especially compared to the other ones I've tried. It fits, stays in place, is easy to install, looks good, and cleans nicely.

Needs repair after a year

In less than a year, the plastic tube that you tuck between the top and bottom section of your seat fell off. Now my seat cover will constantly move every time I sit in it, and it’s super annoying. I’m surprised that the stitching/ material deteriorated as quickly as it did. I don’t know what the normal lifespan of these seat covers are, but that’s really a bummer. In that, I’ll say it doesn’t have much longevity and won’t withstand normal use over an extended period of time. I can’t imagine replacing my car seat cover every year, so I’m going to see if I can just reattach the plastic tube myself. I have another seat cover for the backseat (different brand), and it gets more abuse than this Barksbar front seat cover. Plastic tubes and stitching still look solid, despite having it for over two years. And trust me when I say it’s been through a lot. With that being the frame of reference for durability and longevity for seat covers, I’ll have to say that I’m not impressed with this product. But it served its purpose well for a year.

I needed a car seat cover when my dog finally created a nice big rip on my perforated leather seat on the driver side. He has a tendency to jump from the front seats to the back row, frantically looking for me when I leave him in the car (during those cool 50-60 degree weather).

Product holds up well, and it does not shift or slide, no matter how much I move around on it or how many times my dog hops around on it. Perfect for my needs, and I'll be buying a second one for the front passenger seat. Awesome quality, highly recommend.

So we bought a pair of these for our new rig as a temporary placeholder until we could decide on some custom fitted seat covers. After 9 months of regular use and dog abuse, I'm confident we'll be staying with them.

They've held up great, fit nicely (both aestheticly and physically) and are quite comfortable. They don't move around or get bunched and have been easy to spot clean.

Can't really ask for more. Will buy again if needed.
For reference they are being used in a Ford Maverick. Can't speak to any larger seating.

Occasionally I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality of a product for the price. The price for this seat cover was a great value (~$20) - it was such that I bought 2 of them - one for both front seats of my Honda Civic. On both sides they cover the seat controls, but because the fabric is so thin and stretchy on the sides, you can still manipulate the controls without having to pull up the sides of the cover. Having it cover the seat controls also keeps dirt out of the control crevices. I'm not quite sure why they make it sound like it's made only for the passenger side - it works great for both front seats. The design is great, allowing enough adjustment to make a perfect fit. I like the seat anchor - tucking that in between the cushions really helps hold the seat in place (tilt the back part of your seat forward all the way, tuck in the anchor and then push the back of the seat all the way back up) . Very well constructed - it appears it will last for a very long time. Very easy to install - took only a few minutes to install the 2 front covers and the back (I also bought the hammock one for the back.) Very, very pleased with this purchase.

My beagle rides in my passenger seat every day. I needed something to protect the seat of my lease vehicle that looked nicer than the old blanket I was using previously. It fits my seat well and is easy to install, and doesn’t move around once in place. I would say in terms of being waterproof it can withstand wet paws and some drool, but a full-blown potty accident or some kind of large spill, not so much. Thankfully I haven’t experienced that though. An issue I’ve had is that I don’t think my dog likes the feeling of the fabric of this... It is a bit too slippery for her. She likes to stand up and look out the window, and when the vehicle is in motion she tends to slide around a bit which makes both of us nervous. It is fine when she’s laying down and I think she has gotten used to it, but just be aware of that if your dog moves around a lot when they’re in the car with you. Also, the fabric picks up a lot of hair, and being that the cover is black and my dog has mostly white fur it shows up pretty noticeably. Easy to vacuum up though.

Even if I love items I purchase, rarely do I get around to writing reviews. But these are the best thing that's ever happened to my car! I have two dogs and have fostered and socialized lots of others over the years. I've gone through nearly ever major brand of "waterproof" seat cover in the past decade, and so I feel qualified to speak about my love for these seat covers.

Pros:
My favorite thing about these covers, which may seem inconsequential to some people but has proven important to me -- is the elastic buckle strap that goes UNDER the seat to keep the skirt from sliding up off your car seat. All day, I'm climbing in and out of my car and while other seat covers always seem to get pulled up and scrunched (leaving the fabric or seat unprotected)... the BarksBar design crew got this one right! I've been so happy to not have to pull down or mess with the seat skirt at all.

My second favorite thing is that they are legit waterproof. I absentmindedly tossed my waterbottle in my passenger seat yesterday without realizing my cap wasn't fully closed. I discovered my leaking bottle about an hour later, ripped the seat cover off in a hurry to check if the quart of water had fallen through, and it was dry as a desert underneath. I hung up the wet seat cover and it dried out in my Louisiana sun in about fifteen minutes. Y'all, I just bought these and they've already saved my life!

The last very happy thing I'll mention is the elastic strap that goes around the back of the seat to hold the cover in place. For me, I prefer having just the strap versus the fully covered seat back, because it allows me access to the built-in pockets that are in the back of the car seat. I know some people don't have those pockets in their cars so it maybe a minor thing to mention.

Neutral/Cons:
The quilted fabric on top of the waterproof material has received several compliments, and while they do look nice and are easy to clean, there is a squeaky/rubbery noisy when you enter/exit or move around in the seats. This may be the price of admission for having fully waterproof seat covers, and if so I'm more than willing to pay it!

Branding/Tag placement is not my favorite. I would prefer it somewhere less conspicuous, but I'm just being picky, as it does not affect performance in the slightest.

Overall, I'm VERY happy with my purchase, and BarksBar has earned a loyal customer with their thoughtful, effective, high-quality construction, and beautiful design. I drive a 2010 Nissan Rogue and have very regularly wet and muddy dogs and people in my car. So far, I would highly recommend! I will come back in the future to edit this review as needed.

Love them. They went on easy and fit well. We also bought the back seat pet hammock style cover. No more dog falling off the seat when I brake hard. The dog did climb into the co-pilot seat at one point so my usual co-pilot got to sit in the back. We just unhooked the front-seat headrest strap to drop that side. I would drop both sides to put my grand-kids in after brushing out the dog hair and sand. My co-pilot and I eat in the car and we are both pretty sloppy. The dog had a potty accident in the back seat just before we got home. I cleaned it up with paper towels, folded up the back to contain everything that was left, put it in my front loader and washed it. I did open up the door once the water had filled and opened up the folds so the water could get to all of it. It came out nice and clean and I hung it up on the curtain rod that holds the curtains in front of the washer and dryer and it was dry by morning. Putting it back in was a breeze. The only thing I did different this time was, instead of pulling the seat belt buckles through the velcro, I attached the seat belt dog straps (purchased separately) and only pulled the strap through. That would have prevented the 1 speck of poop from getting on the seat belt buckle. I am so glad I purchased the front and back to protect the inside of my new Corolla. We live at the beach so we are always wet and or sandy. Oh, and did I mention the price? I cost twice what the cheapest was that got horrible reviews, but less than half of some of the others that I didn't even look at because I didn't want to pay those prices. The front seat prices couldn't be beat. I really feel that this is a quality product worth every penny.

I have the BarksBar cover for my backseat and I was looking for a seat cover for my front seats that would match. My backseat one doesn't have the diamond pattern to it so I wasn't quite sure how it would look and fit. I decided I was going to buy one and test it out. I ordered one and it showed up quickly.

I have a 1500 Ram Express truck so I wasn't quite sure if it would be big enough. I'm super excited to say that it fits perfectly. I have the side air bags in my front seats so I can't have anything that hangs over the side of the seat, would hinder or interfere with the air bug, or something could tear off and end up being projectile. I am very happy with the quality of the material. These are waterproof just like that rear seat covers. There is a non slip surface on the underside of the seat part. The bottom part of the cover is stretchy on the sides and has a the tougher fabric down the front.

This will be perfect for me personally for my drivers seat. I work in a machine shop where it's not uncommon for me to end up with oil or grease on me. This cover will stop it from soaking through to my actual seat. I can take the cover off and scrub it down if I need to. The stretchy strap I just have situated behind the seat cover since I don't use it due to my air bags. This seat cover stays pretty cool to the touch and you don't stick to it if you have shorts on. It also stays put nicely just by the seat anchor, the strap at the head rest, and the strap that keeps the stretchy part held down.

I will be purchasing a second one for my passenger seat. I highly recommend this to any for everyday use with humans or animals.

First off, I bought this mainly as a seat cover to save my black cloth car seats from dust and general wear and tear - not for pet use. Previous covers I've had for about a year-ish before the rubber backing would start to crumble and fall apart - making a total mess, and in some instances causing staining and getting in every crack and cranny in the front of the car.
This is twice as thick as any cover I've had, it looks nice, stitching seems good, and it's easy to install and adjust. It does shift a bit when I get in the car, but it only moves a little, and I could probably adjust it a bit more snug, but it's not a big deal to me to pull it a bit back in place after a few drives - thats just me.
I did spill about a half a bottle of water on the cover a couple of weeks ago, and a good portion of it did go through the cover, but it took a couple of minutes to soak through. If you were quick with a towel or were able to remove it quickly, you'd have minimal leakage, but just be aware it's not waterproof.
So I can't review this as a pet-proof seat cover, but it's a hell of a robust seat cover and it holds up like a champ.
