This product means well. I would say for the first few uses it performed ok. It absolutely does not hold charge for 4 hours. I keep it in the shower as it sprays everywhere when you try to use it over the sink. The power of the water jet is dramatically lacking—if they are going to design a wireless model then it has to be more powerful otherwise what’s the point? It just doesn’t provide the necessary power to do the job. It seemed to be better the first few times but then as the battery discharges it becomes even weaker and it absolutely does not hold charge for 4 hours. It doesn’t even last a couple hours on full charge before the light starts blinking to recharge it and that’s in the setting of very intermittent use for about 45 seconds at a time. In addition the primary attachment would not stay on after the first few uses it just kept falling out so I had to use a new one and then that one broke so I was left with attachments that were not useful for me. In general the overall build quality just seems to be lacking and as I said earlier though there seems to be good intention behind this product it simply does not perform adequately.

I haven't quite owned it for 2.5 years. The battery is dying -- only holds maybe 2 days charge now.

So, not the greatest longevity, and the price has gone up substantially. It's a very useful device, but not at all a bargain.

Update: Battery died on the latest one 2-2.5 months after purchase. Something must have happened to quality control. This is unacceptable. Time to buy a competing brand.

I purchased a less expensive version 3+ years ago. It functioned adequately, but was loud and shrill, with very limited functionality. The “Advanced” version is much quieter, with a deeper more comfortably pitched sound. It also comes with a magnetic charger, and lights that tell you when the charge is needed, and when it is complete (a huge improvement). Some reviews describe low water pressure, poor battery duration, or small water reservoirs. Not true for me. There are 3 levels of pressure. The highest pressure is perhaps not as strong as I would expect, but it is certainly enough for my needs. And there is certainly enough water stored for each use. The battery is not a problem so far, after 4 months of use. Overall I am very happy with this product, and will purchase it again when it needs replacement. I don’t expect it to last forever, considering I use it twice each day.

Poor Design, Poor Pressure, Might as Well Gargle with Water

I've used WaterPik manual/countertop flosser for years and wanted somethign a bit less messy and easier to use. THIS was not the solution! I researched water flossers and decided to stick with the WaterPik for a cordless version but this is a horrible replacement to the original. The reservoir requires multiple fills, and there are no guidelines in the notes on how many times you should refill it for a proper flossing. It's incredible messy, water running down your hand and onto the large, wide handle, so you need to clean it off with soap and water after each use, or at least rinse it well and dry it off. Due to the reservoir and design, the handle curves out to a large, almost bulbus base which makes it difficult to handle and control while moving the tip of the flosser around your teeth. I have large hands so those with smaller hands will have a much more difficult time handling this; precision flossing isn't realistic with the cordless WaterPik. The primary problem is the pressure. Even fully charged, (and charging must take place at least every other day in order to keep it strong enough to use.), it feels weak and powerless. There are only three settings, with the highest/strongest pressure setting accounting to only what a medium setting would be on the corded model. If you're like me, you like a strong pressure to be sure your gums are clean and all debris is removed. The pressure here is weak, and you're left with the sensation that your teeth have not been properly flossed. To be fair, when I floss manually, following using the cordless WaterPik flosser, I don't tend to get a lot of debris, so I suppose it's doing something. But, I also floss only after I've brushed and getting anything out of your teeth after all of that should never be possible. This does not leave your gums and teeth perfectly clean and free of food particles. Obviously, it's a poor design and I'm left suspicious of all the positive reviews. WaterPik should redesign this product with a larger but more narrow water reservoir. The battery should be stronger and accomodate a more powerful pump. Until this, this was a complete fail and a complete waste of money. I've sought a return and refund from Amazon.

Nice looking. Ergonomic. Lightweight. Waterproof. Easy to clean. Able to adjust direction and power of water spray. Took some experimenting to get used to how to use it. If not in the shower, be over a sink and maybe hold a towel under your chin. If feels good after using it. Obviously gets food fragments out of between teeth. Seems to work as well as floss without cutting off finger circulation twisting floss around them. Faster too. I like being able to add mouthwash to the water chamber. At first I regretted purchasing but with a little practice I am liking it more. Haven’t even tried all the attachments yet.

Really like the product. It doesn't take up lots of space but really cleans my teeth. Flossing was a pain and you just don't want to do it. My dentist saw really result with my gums after this product. I only write reviews if a product is really bad. But this product really helped me. You do have to refill it often but for me I like that, I can fill it with water at my desired temp from the facet. I think it was well worth the price. I have used this product over a month and twice a day. I have not noticed a problem with the produce.

Worst Design EVER!

What a worthless waste of money. Bought for European travel, where my faucet-mounted oral irrigator is impossible to connect to hotel faucets. After one trip, tossed into the bin - by now it's landfill along with the unnecessary bag and other accessories. A masterpiece of poor design in every way. Huge, heavy, ugly. Wretched ergonomics: there's no way to hold it that gets the tip where it needs to go and moves it smoothly along the gum line. Dinky reservoir doesn't hold enough to do even one quadrant with any thoroughness, so it takes at least 5 or 6 clumsy refills to get it done. Tip has to narrow a jet, probably to make up for the lack of power, so even though it's forceful it doesn't move enough water to clean effectively. A charge only lasts a couple of days, so you have to bring the bulky and heavy charger and cord (and a Euro adapter!). The reservoir leaks during air travel, so needs to be kept in a plastic bag. I replaced this loser with a battery-powered model from the big electronics company that starts with P. What a joy!

I really like this water pik. I have very sensitive teeth and permanent retainers so flossing is difficult for me. I find this very easy to use and on medium setting it doesn’t bother my teeth/gums at all. As other reviews said, the water reservoir is small and I refill it twice while doing my whole mouth, but I really don’t mind that. If it was bigger then it wouldn’t fit on my counter and I’d never use it, so that doesn’t bother me.

Very poor performance and very under powered

2 Updates below....

I purchased this to replace a plug in version. Unfortunately this does not compare on any level, perhaps I have a defective unit. The power of the water is dismal, at the highest pressure setting it is very weak. You can easily rest your tongue on the tip and the water will stop and the internal motor stall. Same thing happens should you touch the tip to your gum. On high the water stops and the motor stalls. The low and medium settings are even worse, absolutely useless. The water pressure is so minimal that it is unusable. When using the water chamber empties and as it does it creates a vacuum making it harder to pump the water out.

When trying to charge the battery, the magnetic attachment barely holds onto the body of the unit.

Overall this is a very disappointing product, due to the performance issues with the water pressure the item is unusable.

In response the the reply from product support, I understand that the battery powered unit will be less powerful than a mains supply counter top version, however the 1st replacement item performed significantly better from a water pressure perspective than the original. This would indicate that indeed the original unit had a pressure issue.

On contacting Amazon a replacement was sent and I'll return the first one. The replacement, was slightly better in performance however still does not warrant anything over 1 star

After receiving the replacement item it worked okay for the first 10 days, it did leak all over the counter top when not being used as many others are reporting, however the biggest issue is today while in use the tip pops out. The tip can be firmly placed and you are unable to pop it out, however turn on and the water pressure will pop it out, it has become useless. I'll give this one more try and get the item replaced again. A very disappointing product.
