I've had these scissors for about a month now, and they work great. I'm using them to cut chopped strand fiberglass, and it makes the job much easier than manual scissors. You can cut with greater control, and at least ten times faster than manual scissors. For function, I'd give it five stars. There was a problem with one of the batteries arriving dead. However, the seller took care of that immediately, so I would give them five stars for customer service. Total stars: ten stars. Highly recommended.

I use this type a cutter to cut felt a lot. I have run through two B&D ones and two Pink power ones and this is by far the best of the bunch. I do a lot of cutting so my earlier products worked well for a while then pooped out. The two lithium batteries that came with the first Hi Spec last forever. The cutting blades work well too. As others have said the safety switch is a pain . After the first 5 hours of using the tool I took it apart and removed the safety and now it is perfect. Don't do this if you have kids! . Anyway it is a great value and a great took if you need to cut a lot of fabric.

Let me start with saying I love that it has 2 removeable batteries. One battery can be on the charger while you're using the other, just like power tools (I love power tools, I have a lot of power tools). Having removeable batteries is the main reason I decided to buy this particular set of cordless electric scissors. And these scissors cut great for my purposes (cutting standard corrugated cardboard), and it came with a spare set of blades. I've used it extensively and I'm still on my first set of blades. The only negative thing for me is it has a safety switch that has to be pushed in while you push the trigger to get it to operate, plus you have to hold onto the trigger with a constant death grip to keep it running. It's really awkward to try and wrap my hand around the scissors to push in both switches at the same time with one hand. (Seriously, a safety switch on scissors???) Anyway, I use these scissors quite a lot on a daily basis, so I just took another reviewer's advice and I removed the safety switch. The thing works fine without that darn safety switch, although you still have to use the same amount of pressure to hold the trigger in while operating the scissors. But I have noticed my right hand is now stronger. Get rid of the safety switch and have the trigger require less pressure to operate and I'd give it 5 stars in a heartbeat.

    UPDATE: 6-27-19
I'm still using these cordless scissors on a daily basis. Today the scissors stopped completely, even though both the batteries are fully charged. So I took it apart again and messed around with the little metal tabs that the trigger pushes against when the trigger is depressed. Those little metal tabs have to make contact with each other so that the current from the battery can get to the motor. It worked and now my scissors are working again. For how long???? Who knows. I think it's time to get another set of cordless scissors to have when these completely give out. There's supposed to be a 3-year warranty, but you have to register to get it.... which of course I didn't do.

This updates my earlier review in which I found the product difficult to operate and thus returned it. Seller promptly contacted me to advise that the instructions were not clear and that I simply needed to hold down the disengage button and power the scissors, then release the disengage button. Not necessary to continue to depress the disengage as I did before which is what made it hard to operate. They sent me a complimentary replacement and following their advice I find the unit very easy to use. It’s an excellent product. Great customer service too.

Awful design, this looks like one of those poorly executed products that’s usually sold to third world markets but somehow peddled its way to the US. The safety switch is awful, your thumb will swell up and go red using it. After about 10 minutes (if you are a woman have small to medium sized hands), expect the back of your wrist (where your veins are) and the top of your hand ligament that leads to the index finger to start hurting. It’s a bit like when you fall on a sheet of ice but catch yourself with the palm of your hand. I am a tough woman, so I may be fine with this for an hour, but not when you work 9, 10 hours a day, 6, 7 days a week non stop.

I usually buy a lime green cutter (goes by different names, but has a diamond square label on the side), and I just buy the unit over again every 4, 5 months when it dulls out and I no longer can sharpen it. I figured, let’s try this one it’s red - I like red. Big mistake, the lime green one is sooo much easier on the hands, you can actually cup around it with your fingers, it’s more lightweight since it doesn’t have to chug a lithium battery in it, and doesn’t have this stupid safety button. My hands and wrists never hurt with it. I am going back to my lime green one, never again will I try something else - learned my lesson.

And I don’t even want to get started on the VOCs the box comes in, there’s so much off-gassing in the box and on the actual unit, you wonder just how much formaldehyde and benzenes are in this thing. I doubt this would even be ethical to sell somewhere like California. It off-gassed even the next day after opening in my workroom, and I have a 20-foot door I keep open pretty much all day with plenty of fresh air. My air purifier constantly kept blinking red around this thing, so it clearly off-gasses. Still, felt nauseous and had scratchy throat, classic indications of off-gassing VOCs. Can’t get the smell off your hand you use to hold it after washing either.

The center switch which I assume works like a safety would not engage and so had to be held in place awkwardly to operate the trigger for the cutters. However it was easy enough to remove a handful of screws and remove the sliding switch and re-assemble. It operates without issue and is good enough for my purpose.
