UPDATE AFTER A FULL YEAR OF USAGE: Does not really work. I would still plug it in because I was desperate for anything to work.. even bought refills but honestly it never worked. :(
I will update this review after a few more weeks of usage, however I’ll briefly describe the experience thus far (4 days into having the diffuser plugged in.) The package came in perfect condition with every piece included so no complaints there. When I plugged it in, per other review’s complaints, I checked to make sure it wasn’t getting too hot or burning. It wasn’t so all good on the burning/too hot issue! I cannot smell it at all. My dog (15 month old lab mix) seems to like it, or at least doesn’t mind it. He goes in his crate a lot recently (I plugged it in right next to his crate for calming reasons.) I will hopefully have good things to review in a few weeks but it came just as expected with no problems so far. I also use Zesty’s calming bites, Thundershirt, and an organic calming spray for dogs.

Doesn't help my Great Dane

I have a very large baby (130 lb.) Great Dane who barks at everything and is anxious. I thought plugging this in next to his bed would help but it doesn't. And it's not returnable so I just wasted money on it. We've tried so many things I thought this was worth a try. Even the Thunder jacket is not effective on him.

I debated about buying a product not called Adaptil but powered by Adaptil. I am glad I purchased ThunderEase as the pricing is better. My vet suggested trying Adaptil.

So far, it has worked to calm my fearful, nervous dog as she is not sitting and shaking. I Have bought a refill and will continue for several months until we see how she is without it.

We adopted a little guy a few years ago after we lost our other fur baby to heart failure. Anyway, the new one had been tragically mistreated and completely neglected in his life before he came home with us. He had been kept in a very small kennel, had never been outside, could barely use his legs, didn't know what it was to be petted and loved on because he was neglected so severely.....this poor guy was a mess. But I adopted him and all of his problems. I have never given up on a dog, but this one was the absolute worst case I had ever come across. I was afraid that he would never come around and be a loving companion. I was wrong. I came across these pheromone diffuser after I bought the pheromone calming collar and had SUPERB SUCCESS, so I bought this to accompany and enhance the effects of the collar. OH, MY GOODNESS. What an amazing transformation of my dog! It doesn't make him perfect, but he is completely different. He's not as skittish, not as nervous, scared, anxious and depressed. He sleeps so much better than without this. He still has trouble with loud scary noise, bugs, being alone. But for the most part, he's a completely different dog. With the aid of this pheromone diffuser, the calming collar and some edible items that help him with his behavior issues, he has become a loveable, snuggle Munchkin. I don't use any RX's because of the side effects that can happen. I appreciate the more natural remedies for issues that may arise in life. And he had issues. He still has some, and I think he always will, because he was so traumatized and mistreated in his early life. But he now accepts pets, he loves to be loved on, he's definitely a "VELCRO" dog! I am so thankful that I came across this product and decided to take a chance. I am sure it won't work for everyone's dog's needs, but if you have tried several different things and have had little success, it could behoove you to take a chance on this. Because if it does work, then you will be able to feel better about the quality of life your dog will have. I know that I do. I have faith that these pheromone products help him and when it's time for a new one, about 4 weeks, I can see a big difference in his behavior. So I replace it with a new one and within a few minutes, it begins working its magic and he begins settling down. I always have several of these and several of the calming collars on hand. I don't want to be without them because of the fact that they're working for my little fellow and anything that makes him happy and comfortable I want that for him. He had a terrible life before us and I want to do everything I can to help make sure he has the BEST LIFE EXPERIENCE he can have. And this diffuser and the collar are a part of our life now. I hope you give it a chance because it could be good for your dog too, and isn't that what we all want for our fur babies ❤️?

Enter the plugin promised to bring peace and tranquility to this whirlwind of fur and energy. Sounds like the premise of a heartwarming comedy, right? Well, let me tell you, the punchline is anything but.

I had high hopes for this plugin, envisioning my hyperactive Shih Tzu transformed into a zen master of relaxation. But alas, reality had other plans. Instead of calming my furry friend, this plugin seemed to have the opposite effect – turning my once-bouncy pup into a canine connoisseur of chaos.

Picture this: I plug in the device, eagerly awaiting the serene serenade of calming scents to waft through the air. But what do I get instead? A dog who's suddenly developed a newfound fascination with the curtains, a penchant for barking at passing shadows, and a talent for knocking over anything and everything in its path. It's like the plugin flipped a switch from "calm" to "chaos" in record time.

Suffice it to say, my hopes of transforming my home into a sanctuary of tranquility were dashed faster than my Shih Tzu's hopes of catching that elusive squirrel in the backyard.

While this plugin may have had noble intentions, its execution left much to be desired. If you're looking for a laugh and a lesson in the unpredictability of pet products, by all means, give it a try. Just don't expect your crazy Shih Tzu to suddenly channel its inner Zen master. As for me, I'll stick to traditional methods of canine calming – like long walks, belly rubs, and the occasional treat (for both me and the dog).

OMG it works!

I got this because I have 2 dogs and my roommate has one but two cats. The dogs are easily excited and anxious at all hours of the day. My pitsky will get so anxious and excited he shakes vigorously almost trembles uncontrollably. He has meds but I only like to give them to him during severe thunderstorms as they really stone him out. While my pug is a year old and her nickname is "crackhead." She can't control her excitement when people come home or if some is at the door. She'll get so excited and workout that she then throws up. Then my roommate's dog is a Velcro dog with severe separation anxiety. Needless to say, all of them feed off of one another to the point it's incredibly stressful. I got this as a hail mary in order to to tame all of them. It was delivered at 10 am and by 2pm everyone is cuddling and chilling on the couch! It was so fast. My pitsky hates to cuddle up to other dogs and here he is all snuggly next to my roommates dog with no problem. They only gave low barks at my neighbors when they got home and my roommates dog didn't even run to the window to investigate with them. I am in love! Since it's only been a day, I'll follow up in a month or two if it keeps working.

It should be notes, that based on some of the other reviews, not all dogs are receptive. I look at it as going to the doctor for medication, what works for one person doesn't always work for the next. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work for your pooch.

I have two dogs one black lab 3 years old and one Chocolate lab mix rescue who is thought to also be 3 but who really knows. The black lab has TERRIBLE separation anxiety and I bought this with him in mind. He seems to be more irritated/riled up when it’s plugged in. However the chocolate lab seems to enjoy it. Probably won’t buy again as I need something for the black lab not really the other lab.
