5.0 out of 5 starsTHIS COMPANY *HONORS* ITS 5 YEAR WARRANTY!
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2021
The battery stopped working after 5 Months. I have not seen any hair growth yet, but you are supposed to after six months of use. The hair laser is well made, however the battery is the only thing that is not durable, and it was definitely outsourced. You can't use a cell phone Battery booster to work with this because the timer and intensity of the medical grade lasers all comes from the battery.

I am calling the company today to see if they will honor it. I will be back with my answer shortly. btw, i made the battery last much longer than 60 days the first time by recharging it after every use. But now it doesn't stay on, except when I squeeze the battery a little, it goes on which leads me to believe the battery made in china, has a soldering problem which wasn't soldered all the way.

UPDATE in April 2022, one and a half years later.
THIS COMPANY HONORED ITS COMMITMENT TO ME BUT AMAZON SECRET POLICE REVIEWERS KEEP WASTING MY TIME BY DELETING ALL MY WORK SO I AM ERASING ALL MY REVIEWS HERE. BUT THIS PRODUCT DEFINITELY WORKED.

It grew hair but so far no thickness of hairs, in other words I now have 50% of my thickness back on the bald spots. I no longer have any bald spots on my head, but the hair strands are thin. So I keep using this now 5 days a week instead of 3 days a week. Also I'm using one other hair growing option, but the laser helmet is key. There is another laser helmet which I won't name. It only has 30 laser lights in it, and didn't work, but the Double Blind Study used 272 laser lights which this helmet has. The amount of LED LIGHTS in the helmet is critical because the study of laser helmets said that 272 lights were needed to stimulate the hair follicles. This helmet has 272 lights and is the most reasonably prices of units that have been made well.

About my Battery not working problem.
The owner was quick to get back to me and very concerned. He sent me the battery within 2 days from Scottsdale Az.

Other things you should know. I bought this first and Amazon was good enough to let me return it because I had problems with the battery. Then I used the return money to RE-BUY the Illumiflow model because it has a 5 year warranty. I have used the helmet from Nov 2020 and all the laser lights still work after all this time. The helmet is well made and the developer spent most of his money using better materials to make a superior product and sell it for the most reasonable cost, out of all the laser helmets, rather than spend all that money on Marketing which is what some developers do.

The battery lasted me over a year the second time. Why? Because I didn't listen to the manual which says to charge it every three or 4 uses. Instead, I charged it after each use which made it last much longer.

One last note that the manual doesn't tell you:
If you are over 40 to 75, your hair will not return in six months like the manual states. It took me over one full year and three months before I realized that my balding top crown was no longer bald, but hairs are growing there. Right now, I have hairs on my head, but they are sparse. Not sparse as in bald with a few extra hairs, but I mean, sparse as in a comb-over look. In other words, there's enough hair to grab, but it's not as thick as when I was in my 20's, but still cheaper and better than transplants, and you can talk on a phone while wearing it or watching a movie. I'm not sure I would wear it while running though as I think it could break.

But even though some hair has come back, I have not give up yet on trying to get it all back. This is the perfect unit to experiment with time though because it has a 5 year warranty, and I believe the owner will continue to honor his product so at the end of 5 years, if I need to, I will probably buy another helmet from the same guy. My 5 day a week use is beginning to pay off. some hairs are becoming thicker in certain parts of the head, so I have good hope that my hairs will continue to come back and grow, but it will take time. So the question is, was it worth spending $849 to buy this?

Yes, it was worth it because I never bought it until after I had lost much of my hair. This is a high quality unit when compared to $2900 model, this is the better deal because it's cheaper and works. And the only thing that has gone wrong with it is the battery and if the warranty expires he'll sell you the batter for $42. But you must remember no laser helmet or hair treatment, except for transplants will get you all of your hair back that you had in your twenties. A rule of thumb is if you have been bald for over 5 years, a laser helmet may not help you as much as transplants. But I was partly bald for 3 years and 50% of my hair came back. I will update later if the rest of my hair comes back.

Good luck, all. Hopefully Amazon will allow me to upload this review.

There's a three year warranty, and afterc about 28 months i started having problems with the power supply. But after submitting a claim for a dead power connection all they've done is send me ads for a new unit. They've also changed their support phone number to make contact a little harder.

In the 4 days since I called in for my warranty repair, I've gotten about 10 emails advertising the hat, and no response to my warranty claim.

4.0 out of 5 stars At least we're going in the right direction!
Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024

My husband and I ordered this in March of 2022. We've used it pretty faithfully since then. We've both had new hair growth in areas where the hairline was receding. It's pretty soft and downy, but at least it's there. We're hoping the hair will keep growing as long as we continue with the laser cap. The results are worth the effort and cost for us. The only 'side effects' are looking a little weird and feeling some modest heating while wearing it. The cap fits loosely so the included elasticized band is needed to keep it in place and block light leakage. We use the cap in the evenings while reading for a 30-minute session alternating nights between us. It's no big inconvenience. The battery went nuts while under warranty and the company agreed to replace it. We didn't want to pay the $15 shipping so the company said they'd waive it if we wrote a review.

5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 stars laser cap with the best price that seems to work
Reviewed in the United States on November 4, 2023

Both my wife and I have been using the Illumiflow 272 laser cap now for over three years and do feel like its made a difference. It's easy to use, every other day for 30 mins. The customer support is also excellent as they've replaced the cap and the battery once after having some issues about 1 and a half years in. Compared to what other brands charge, this one has the best price quality ratio. The only improvement I wish Illumiflow would do is update the battery pack to a USB-C and look into improving the chip board quality and charge longevity. They said they'll address with the manufacturer. The battery usually lasts us about 2-3 charges before it needs to be recharged again which is fairly reasonable. The size of the battery pack is also fine to easily store it with the clip on your pants or in the pocket. While you technically can, I do recommend not to run around it in the house and do chores. First, the cap does sit properly on your head but it could easily fall off if you were to lets say vacuum your floor, secondly, you can easily tangle the usb cord from the battery pack and get stuck. For a 800$+ product, I wouldn't want to chance it. I can't speak to the quality of the lasers but the cap itself appears sturdy. Oh, the baseball cap to "cover" the laser cap is BS, but that's fine! You want stronger hair? Own it and share your journey! I've shared our story and its appreciated by other people who suffer of hair loss. Just keep in mind, you'll be doing the cap for the rest of your life (until they come up with something better), likely combined with Minoxidil (women, do some research and use the 5%!)

5.0 out of 5 stars Yes, I am seeing hair regrowth!
Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2021

UPDATE - UPDATE!!!! 9-2-21: I started having issues with the battery and the extension cord. I had multiple back and forth conversations with customer service AND THEY WERE AMAZING!! Sent me several extension cords, a new battery with case - all FREE! Then, as I was still having issues, they are replacing the entire cap system at no charge to me. They even sent a pre-paid label to return it!! This cap really does what it says and I have had amazing results which my stylist comments on all the time. And the company truly stands behind their products.
ORIGINAL POST - 4/2021: Being a nurse, I did a lot of research on this type of product before actually purchasing it. It is FDA approved & could do what it said. After researching many models, I decided on this one as having the maximum number of lasers and a very reasonable cost compared to other 272 laser brands. (Capillus is $3000!!!! for the exact same thing.) I not only have a family history of sparse hair with aging, I also have Lupus which can cause hair loss. My hair was starting to get so thin that it looked like a thin brown covering on my head - like it was painted on! I started using this product in 12/2020. Within 2 weeks the first thing I noticed was that my hair wasn't falling out continuously!! And over the next 4 months I have seen a thickening. It isn't like my teen years, but I am extremely happy to see a stop to further loss and some regrowth!! I use it for the full 30 minutes about 4 times per week. My head is small (I wear an extra small motorcycle helmet) so it is kind of big on me. But I center it and it is fine. I'm usually catching up on phone games while I use it. It comes with a baseball type overcap that goes over the actual laser part & that has a bit of overhang around the edges which helps to block the laser light from shining down on the face. (Lasers can damage your eyes if looked in to or reflected in to your eyes.) It makes my scalp feel warm, but is not uncomfortable in any sense. The only thing I have any unhappiness with is that the battery pack is not holding a charge very well after 4 months of use, so I have contacted the company via their support email to find out what they can do about it. The unit cannot be used while plugged in to the wall socket, you must charge up the battery pack to use it, which is fine. It auto shuts off after 30 mins. A Final Fact: there are several different types of hair loss and only a few types will not improve with this device, so be sure to look at the company's hair loss chart to see which type you have before purchasing. Over all I am extremely happy with this product and it does help hair regrowth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laser Cap use=thicker hair strands
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2023

I started using the cap 2 years ago when my hair thinned out quite a bit and I was uncomfortable with the wayI looked. I went to the dermatologist who told me to start using minoxidil. I began researching like crazy, hours and hours of searching for the best way to speed up hair growth and then hours of deciding what brand laser cap to buy after I learned that was what I needed to be doing ASAP. Illumiflow was my choice after thoroughly researching brands offering the best value and results. This combination of laser cap use plus minoxidil has made my hair strands thicker and my part (once noticeable down the back of my head) is now less visible because the hair strands around it are fuller and can be brushed over it. I do not necessarily see a ton of new baby hairs growing regularly everywhere, but the hair is definitely fuller and I feel good about my hair again. It took me close to 6 months to feel differently about the way it looked, so be patient. By the way, I did not take it on my 18 day trip to Europe this summer and then because I was feeling so confident about my hair and looks for over a year, I began to slowly slack off on using it for awhile after I got home from the trip and I am now VERY, very sorry I broke my routine!! My part down the back crown of my hair is showing scalp again and it’s not as full, so I’m bummed!! I’m a female, in my 60’s, fine hair which I highlight and lowlight regularly to keep my hair looking as pretty as possible. It will take me awhile to regain the thicker strands after being without my cap for awhile, but I did it once and I can do it again. Use this cap only if you want thicker strands! Lol. Illumiflow, maybe offer an accessory plug exclusive for the cap for purchase so the cap can be used safely outside the U.S? I was afraid I’d fry it with the wrong electrical current and it was an expensive purchase to risk breaking.

I still have my bald patches months after using this hat. On top of that it is VERY uncomfortable to wear...it just flops around loose on my head. If I use the headband to secure it better, as they suggest, the laser probes dig into my head and hurt more... so back to just letting it flop around on my head. Disappointing waste of $700.

I own two of these one for a little over a year the other for three or four years. Both of mine are now broken. I have tried switching batteries and cables back-and-forth to no avail. The science behind these is good, but the product is inferior. The rigid plastic cap Fits one size of skull only so if yours is bigger or smaller, you will have to deal with a bad fitment I think for the money you should expect a much better product build

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Customer Service

My battery stopped charging after 3 years and Amy in Customer Service first provided me with troubleshooting tips. When those didn't work, she shipped a new replacement battery at no cost. I started using the cap in my 60s to try and grow hair back in the bald spot on the back of my head. The bald spot has gotten smaller, with hair growing in on the sides and working in. Shorter hairs have grown in the middle of the bald spot, so I can't wait for the replacement battery to continue treatment. Progress has been slow, but there has been improvement at an age where it should be getting worse, and the short hairs have improved the bald spot "shine". I would definitely buy again as it is a value compared to other similar products.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great results for great value

I chose this based on prior reviews and by comparing similar items from hair treatment centers. I received substantial results within 6 months. Pros are it's easy to use, convenient as 30 minutes every other day is an easy target, results are noticeable, it's a good price point (looks like basically the same thing sold by Bosley, etc for $1000 and up), and Illumiflow customer service is responsive. Also, I think the prices on replacement parts is reasonable, if those become necessary . Slight cons are that the cap may feel uncomfortable (you'll get used to it), and my electrical cord went bad at the end of my 2nd year (no suprise as I use this diligently). However, they were responsive to my inquiry and will replace the cord (I am charged with shipping, not mad about it). Overall I'm pretty happy with this system and the people who support it, and have had good results and good experiences.
