Big Value with some Flaws

The Urpower Nylon Retractable Dog Leash as the title reveals is a tremendous value for its current pricing of $13.99 w/free shipping (for Prime members). As other reviewers have stated the handle is constructed of heavy plastic and the grip is very ergonomic for adults with medium to large-sized hands. Children & petite individuals might find this leash a bit cumbersome. The clasp is heavy and the spring feels to be constructed of quality material. The nylon leash piece itself is durable and retracts easily into the handle regardless of how much or how little has been spooled out.

My only cause for concern is the locking mechanism. The press-action lock is very easy to both secure and release; there is no "quick lock" with a half-press. Could be an issue for some. I cannot stress enough to read the product title: for small to medium sized dogs. My dog is a 20 lb corgi mutt and I feel were she much heavier she would be able to spool out extra leash by overpowering the lock/winder. I can make the mechanism slip by holding the device in one hand and pulling with the other and I'm no beefcake. It may appear hefty enough for large dogs but certainly would not be.

The overall quality merits this product being given a 4-star rating but the price-point makes it a 5. Don't be disillusioned as to what you're purchasing and make sure the features & weight capabilities will suit your needs.

This is an awesome leash! I have two large dogs (82 pound white lab and a 62 pound goldendoodle) who are both VERY STRONG and I needed a retractable leash that could handle both their weight and their pull when they see something they want to chase - like rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, etc. This leash won the test, again and again. The leash itself is the same width of fabric - not a cord - which means if your dog runs around your legs and pulls you won't get rope burn (that's happened to me before and hurts like crazy). This has a great locking mechanism and holds - very, very well - even when the dog wants to pull. In other words - it does what it is supposed to do. I bought two of these - one for each of my dogs and I'm very, very pleased with the investment. Don't hesitate to purchase this leash!!! You'll be very pleased!!!

Leash can break in time

I brought this leash for my growing staff/mastiff and at first it worked well and efficiently. My puppy is strong but generally respected the restrictions of the leash until today. I haven’t owned this leash for a year yet and certainly did not expect it to break but it did. Gray is 90 lbs but generally not extremely rambunctious but he saw a cat and ran for it and snapped the leash in the process. Prior to this event I was exceedingly satisfied with the retractable leash’s performance. I loved the grip, felt secure about the strength of the ribbon, so overall I was totally satisfied about the leash. I would however recommend it because this actually is not the first time he chased a cat , I am lamenting the fact that I am now faced with purchasing another one . Not to happy about that

The UrPower leash for your dog is comfortable, safe, and easy to use! I was able to easily press both buttons on the leash. The braking button helped me control how far away my dog went from me and helped me abruptly stop her in her tracks - for safety! The brake release button helped me let her run amok again. Every good leash promotes a balance of safety and fun!

Works with any standard dog collar -except the collars found at Hot Topic. Those collars are for people with daddy issues. Use the UrPower Leash only with actual dog collars and you will be able to safely control your dog!

The handle is comfortable. Using this leash for several hours will not hurt your hands- unless you have a personal hand problem not related to the leash.

The reflective nylon also helps motorists see you so they don't run your over when you are running through the streets at night. Even more safety!

Overall, this is an inexpensive dog control solution that is comfortable, safe, and easy to use! I like my UrPower leash so much I have two of them - and I only have one dog!

I bought this to use in the tree stand. I hook my bow or gun to it and pull it into the tree and let them down. The 26-ft leash is wonderful it allows me to get up high in the tree. After a week of use it works great. It is smooth, the brake feature works great too. Before with a rope I was always burning my fingers letting my bow or gun down, but not anymore I hook it up hold the rubber handle and lower my equipment. Plus it is strong enough that now I can also put my pack on it as well. So it has made going up and down a tree safer. I keep it hooked to my stand so I don't have to worry about leaving it. This is a great Bow/Gun leash.
