Fabulous sewing kit!

This is a fabulous little sewing kit!

It contains everything you would need for general home sewing projects and clothing repairs. It has 36 various color threads, along with another package which contains 5 spools of multi-colored threads. Each spool contains way more thread than what comes in those tiny $4-$5 sewing kits that you get in a convenience store or supermarket.

Important Tools are Useless

As someone learning to sew, It was nice to have a lot of the small tools that a beginner might not think about but definitely needs when starting (pins, seam ripper, clips). But some of the major tools are useless to the point that I don’t think I can fully recommend this set. I mostly got this set for the assortment of pins, clips and seam ripper but neither of the scissors work well, they can barely cut thread let alone fabric. The fabric pencil that comes with it does not work, I was better off using a regular pencil. Finally, and perhaps the worse offender, was that the measuring tape that came with it was off by several centimeters. If you are looking for more than just some thread to start with, you would be better off buying those major tools separate in order to get better quality

I got this as a gift for my young granddaughter. She wants to learn to sew. This kit is reasonably priced and I was pleasantly pleased with the amount of supplies there is. The zippered case is nice to keep things in one place or traveling when she wants to visit her other Grandmother. Delivery was quick also.

It's a cheap pack

You get what you pay for. It's cheap, and it shows in the QA / quality control. If you are someone who is patient and are willing to spend some time after you get this, to save a few dollars, this is totally worth it. If you actually need this for a specific purpose and aren't patient, you'd probably would get mad. So not really recommended for beginners or the uninitiated. Out of 41 XL Threads, I had to find the thread for 6 of them: Black, Safety Orange, Red, Burgendy, Silver, and Light Blue. Regardless, it didn't take 30 minutes like one person said took them, it took me 4 minutes, but that's because I rubbed and fiddled with it. I was okay with breaking a thread If by accident. However, I didn't know how to open that Needle Wheel of 30 Assorted Needles, it only has a circle and can be rotated. I found out after watching a youtube video "How to use a Dritz Needle Compact", essentially, you rotate that front circle and two arrows to the chamber you want and like a mechanical pencil, you get the stuff from the side opening one needle at a time. The 12 self threading needles are easy to get out though, but it's in a re-closable cardboard envelope. Then there are 10 small thin needles in a re-closable tube, the best imho.

Nice little sewing kit for repairs and quick jobs

This is not for a seamstress or anything, but for someone who occasionally needs to patch up something or put a button back on, this is perfect. Enough stuff, but not too big you cannot store or take with you. College kids, for example, would benefit from having this in their dorms. Guys like me who rarely sew anything, can sew on a button or fix the dogs toy or something. Or if the car seat rips. That kind of thing. Nice assortment of items.
